New Music: The Avett Brothers – “Live & Die”

Posted by Sully on June 27, 2012

From their upcoming Rick Rubin produced studio album, The Carpenter, The Avett Brothers have released the first single, “Live and Die”.  The band has a lot to live up to with this album since their previous album, I and Love and You, was one of the best albums released in 2009 and into 2010.  If this single is any sign of how The Carpenter is going to sound, then I think The Avett Brothers are going to surpass many expectations.  The band is known for blending bluegrass, folk, punk, and rock & roll all into one and it seems like even with a high profile producer such as Rick Rubin, they are not going to let that affect their songwriting.

The Carpenter  is out on Universal Records on September 11.

“Live and Die” is streaming now on NPR
