Remembering Carl Beane

Posted by Kenneth Fenderson on May 10, 2012

As you’re probably well aware of by now, the voice of Fenway Park for the last nine seasons and change, Carl Beane, was killed in a tragic car crash yesterday in Sturbridge. It’s an terrible loss for the Red Sox organization, Red Sox fans, and baseball in general. Nobody on earth loved their job more than Mr. Beane did. His passion for the game was matched by none, and he counted himself as one of the luckiest people on the planet. In this video from June 2011, Mr. Beane does an interview before announcing a Cape Cod League game, in which he says “I plan on doing this until I’m on the other side of the grass.” Indeed he did.

“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to Fenway Park.” Rest In Peace Mr. Carl Beane, 1952-2012.
