Fenway Park’s public address announcer Carl Beane passed away following a single car crash in Sturbridge, MA Wednesday morning. Beane reportedly suffered a heart attack while behind the wheel and crashed head-on into a group of trees. He was 59.
Beane was an extremely well-liked and well-respected broadcaster in Boston for over the past 30 years. He has been behind the microphone of every home game at Fenway Park since 2003.
It’s a sad day for Red Sox Nation, rest in peace Carl.
Below is the second-to-last lineup card Beane ever read at Fenway.
