Hack-a-Howard, Hack-a-Howard, Hack-a-Howard!
It was a Hack-a-Howard fourth quarter for Boston as they desperately tried to chisel away at the 19 point lead by the Houston Rockets. The result was a temporary bandage to the Celtics crisis of losing early leads and coughing up victories to their opponents late in ballgames.
The C’s sent Howard to the free throw line 14 times in the final period and Howard thanked them for doing so by making 6. He finished 10 of 18 from the charity stripe. Howard and the Rockets gave Boston it’s ninth consecutive loss which is the longest since 2007.
Avery Bradley scored 14 points in the first quarter that helped Boston capture an early edge on the visitors before Houston took charge in the second quarter and didn’t look back. Bradley, who has become a force on the offensive end with his timely buckets and shot selection, ended the contest with 24 points.
The Beantown Ballers once again started out with continuity and an up-tempo pace that kept the Rockets off balance and AGAIN stopped. Thanks to Dwight for making those free throws. Maybe Boston shouldn’t depend on the other team to win their games for them.
