Originally thought to be shelved for 4-6 weeks after suffering a sprained left MCL against the Raiders Oct. 2, Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo surprised everyone Friday suiting up for practice. While Mayo will likely still not be available for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys, he’s still well ahead of his initial rehabilitation schedule.
In other news, running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis and nose tackle Vince Wilfork also returned to practice Friday. The Law Firm missed Thursday’s practice with a toe injury while Wilfork was dealing with a personal issue.
All players wore light shoulder pads for Friday’s practice, playing outside in a constant drizzle.
