There’s few things that fascinate me more in sports than people’s reactions to foul balls or home runs. For every genuinely impressive snag by a fan there’s 15 embarrassing excuses for catch attempts. Far too often an entire section of fans react as if a grenade was thrown their way. I understand if you’re sitting behind first or third base and the clean-up hitter smokes a foul ball at your face, that’s almost always a poop-my-pants situation. But if there’s some lazy fly ball that my 12-year-old cousin sees every Saturday in Little League and you’re hiding from it like it’s a mortar strike, you’ve got problems.
In the video above Johnny Boyfriend here alligator arms it and gets hit in the nuts while his eyes were probably closed. In a JFK-like fashion the ball hits off the kid’s nuts and hits his girlfriend right in the face. It’s the Magic Bullet of home runs. I could watch this video all day and still not figure out how a grown man could make such a pathetic attempt to catch a baseball.
