Courtney Lee has played in Orlando, New Jersey, and Houston over the last four seasons, but it appears he’s headed for Boston.Boston.com is reporting that the Celtics and Rockets have come to terms on a deal that would send Boston’s number one free agent target, Courtney Lee, to the Green Team via sign & trade. Boston will be sending second year players E’twuan Moore and JuJuan Johnson, along with Sean Williams and a 2013 second round pick to the Rockets. Lee is entering his fifth season in the NBA, spending a year apiece in Orlando and New Jersey before settling in with Houston over the last two seasons. Lee is a career 44% shooter, averaging 10 points per game.
This is a solid pick up for Boston, as Doc Rivers seems to think that Avery Bradley will not be healthy in time for the start of the regular season. Boston’s backcourt is becoming more and more formidable, with Jason Terry signing in Boston to back up Rajon Rondo. However, the Celtics do need to sign another big man, as Fab Melo can not be considered a solution for the rebounding woes that have plagued Boston for much of the last few seasons. Having a healthy Chris Wilcox can’t hurt, though.
