The Celtics fought off the pesky Philadelphia 76ers to earn a bid to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat. There’s no rest for these aging veterans, who get one night off before starting the series on Monday.
As excited as I am that the Celtics won Game 7, I can’t wait for this series to start against Miami. I hate the Heat. I hate LeBron. I hate Wade. I hate Spoelstra. Everything about them just irks me. The Celtics are banged up but the main core is still there; the same main core that went down to the Heatles in five games in the conference semis last year. And you better believe that this is there last shot. The Celtics aren’t going into the summer like the last five years wondering how they can surround the big four with solid role players. This is the last hurrah.
It’s kind of like in Independence Day after all the cities get thrashed by the aliens. The world is about to be exterminated. The Americans keep trying to attack but can’t get by the aliens force field. Then they send out one last counter-attack before the base housing thousands of people gets destroyed. Bill Pullman shoots at the big spaceship and it gets blocked by the force field. All hope seems to look lost. Then he tells the commander “I want another shot at it.” He shoots the next missile and it hits the spaceship and Will Smith saves the day. That’s how I feel like the Celtics are approaching this series. This core group just wants another shot at the Heat. It’s there last shot and you better believe they’re going to leave it all on the floor.
Thank you for some other wonderful article. Where else may just anybody get that type of information in such an ideal way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m at the search for such info.
